Women!  Turn up the Volume! trains communication officers from various NGOs and CBOs in developing and producing low tech media products (newsletters, baneners, T-shirts, posters, etc.) to assist in communicating messages specifically during campaigns. Next training dates:  South Africa 8-12 March and Namibia 23-26 March.
Women!  Turn up the Volume! trains communication officers from various NGOs and CBOs in developing and producing low tech media products (newsletters, baneners, T-shirts, posters, etc.) to assist in communicating messages specifically during campaigns
Part of the SAMGI tradition is to have all her staff members gather in one place for a week per month.  During this week we focus on staff development initiatives.  Themes for the upcoming homeweeks include report writing training, Joomla training, computer training and skills enhancement.  Homeweek dates for the rest of the quarter are as follows:  1-5 March and 23-26 March.
SAMGI beneficiaries include groups of Arts and Culture learners from the Northern and Western Cape.  They are currently completing a learnership in Arts and Culture Adminisration and will have their last contact session from 15 - 26 February 2010.  This project aims to strengthen project management practices within the projects doing the learnership.
Training sessions to assist NGOs and CBOs in using the media to communicate with their target groups and beneficiaries.  The course focuses on Gender, Media and Democracy and draws from the experiences and needs of the participants attending in addition to the prepared training programme.  South Africa:  1-5 February 2010.  Namibia:  15-19 February and Zimbabwe 15-19 March.
Seven SAMGI staff members will be doing assessor training as a staff development initiative.  This will strengthen SAMGI's training unit and make in-house training teams more efficient.  Training takes place 30-31 January and 6-7 February and is facilitated by Bev April on behalf of Comficor Consulting.
